From entryway through to the entertainment room and into this custom wine cellar every aspect is a masterpiece. Enjoy this second page of images and videos showing the many details that went into not only this home, but also this residential wine room design.
Building a wine cellar is much more than just adding a few wine racks to a room.
When you are designing a solution to match a home, care should be taken to create something that is in keeping with the style and grandeur of the property. Adding value to a home is inherent to a great design.
Let’s take a tour of the home so that you can get a feel of the setting before entering the wine cellar itself.
From the moment you enter the front gate this home is easy and pleasing to the eye. With a circular driveway that will eventually have a fountain in the middle to the wonderful Italian style architecture.
As you approach the front double doors you are immediately taken with the two matching lions either side.
Wonderfully sculpted in bronze they are both imposing and arresting at the same time, you almost expect them to roar.
Inside the home, quality is obvious. Italian styling throughout, the home is a showcase of opulence and good taste. From the railings on the stairs with outstanding filigree to the antique rugs on the floors. Even the floors with Italian marble make you feel as if you have stepped into a Roman villa.
The owners have made a conscious decision that this house will not only look good but will also be a home. While the columns and murals on the walls and ceiling are imposing, the furniture and fittings give the whole place a warm cozy feel.
You can tell they also love their wine cellar and all things wine related, a case in point is the lazy Susan sitting on the dining table off the family room. It has been made from the top of a barrel and adds a wonderful touch to the round table.
The family room itself, which gives easy access to the wine cellar, has deep brown leather chairs allowing one to curl up with a good book or fall asleep in front of the TV. It is from here you can see the patio and beyond to the golf course.
There is no doubt that the patio has been built for outdoor living. A sumptuous table and chairs, an infinity edged swimming pool, an outdoor fireplace along with a fully fitted kitchen means you could easily live out there.
When entering the wine tasting room the Italian Renaissance feel really comes to the fore. From the Italian painting on the wall, to the epee and the baroque heraldic shield on the wall you feel as though you have stepped into the dining room of an Italian Count.
The attention to detail is astounding down to the two Italian face tiles brought back from Italy after a vacation there. Rather than just hanging them on the wall they were embedded into the stonework above the door on the inside of the tasting room. This custom wine cellar room really is a ‘little piece of Italy.’
Have a wine cellar project that you would like to get going? Have a room to convert into a stunning wine storage room? No room is too small or too large to turn into an extension of your passion.
