Solara Ironworks: Your Portal to Beautiful Custom Wine Cellar Doors

Wine cellar doors are crucial components in the design and functionality of wine cellars and wine rooms. Essentially, they help preserve the quality of wine by working together with the cooling unit and insulation at maintaining the necessary environment. They help prevent fluctuations in humidity and temperature that can adversely affect the wine’s taste, smell, texture, and overall aging process.

Wine cellar doors are designed with both form and function in mind, built from a range of materials, sealing mechanisms, and insulation features to meet the optimal requirements of your wine cellar. There are different types of wine cellar doors and the choice impacts the room’s effectiveness in preserving wines. From sturdy wooden doors that represent a traditional appeal to modern glass doors that offer full visibility and a sense of openness, you can work with your wine cellar specialist to arrive at the best option you want and the best option your wine cellar needs.

About Solara Ironworks

Solara Ironworks is one of the leading experts at crafting professionally-built custom wine cellars that suit your needs. They are masters at designing doors that are both effective and aesthetic for every type of wine storage unit. One of their works can be seen in a beautiful, contemporary home wine cellar that features a timeless elegance.

We recently partnered with Solara Ironworks to build the glass door panels for a small wine cellar located in a newly-built home. We had them create three door panels that could secure a growing wine collection. While the modern look is quite appealing and welcoming, the science behind the entire thing is what makes it more interesting.

Solara provided us with double-insulated, framed glass wine cellar doors that were weather stripped on all sides (Dual insulation is fundamentally having 2 glass panels sandwiched to improve the glass’s insulation capabilities). Since the depth of the walk-in wine closet was rather shallow, we requested that all three door panels can swing open. This way, the owners would have better accessibility to the entire cellar.
