Elegance Out of the Box – The Black Modern Wine Racking in Dallas that Will Leave you Astonished

Traditional Design Meets Black Modern Wine Racking in Dallas Residential Wine Cellar

This black modern wine racking in Dallas exudes a kind of mysterious charm that defines this stunning wine storage. It could yet be the definition of a classic contemporary wine room that is breathtaking from top to bottom.  As Karl Lagerfeld puts it: “Black and white looks modern, whatever that word means.” But this modern residential wine cellar design in Texas would make you think of a lot of adjectives: Superb, elegant, stylish, dramatic, and more.

It’s exactly what this Dallas couple was going for. They wanted a design that would reflect their sense of style, beauty, and passion for wines. They began collecting in 2000 and have since grown their collection. With a huge number of wine bottles, the next step was to build a wine cellar to preserve their fine Futures of Chateau Lafite Rothschild.

Black is their color and alder is the perfect option.

Black Modern Wine Racking in Alder Wood

This classic-contemporary black wine cellar consists of vertical and horizontal wine racking system with display rows below them

The magic started when their wine collection grew from one box of Futures to 800 bottles. Their massive load inspired the lady of the house, who is also an interior designer, to design their own wine cellar. For a modern wine cellar design in Texas, the alder wood with black stain was the ideal choice. Aside from the classic-modern feel that black gives, it also matches the rest of house’s color theme.

To begin with, Wine Cellar Specialists took advantage of alder wood’s flexibility and great staining properties. From there, they installed the horizontal and vertical wine racking system, diamond bins, wooden case storage, and magnum racks.

Alder wood

Also, one of Alder wood’s distinct qualities is having sheer grain. It is soft and has excellent staining properties, making it the preferred wood material for finishing. It is a current option because aside from its polished characteristic, it is not hard to work with.

Black is the Color of Elegance

The wines are set up in label-forward and cap-forward formats and in columns and layers

Wicked, intimidating, strong, and hideous. There is a lot of “dark” adjectives that you can think of when the color black is mentioned. A black-themed wine cellar may remind you of a dungeon, a ghostly cave, or an eerie basement. For some, black is synonymous with unkempt or squalid. Not this wine cellar.

Let us not overlook the good impression that black has among style-sensitive people.  Fashion designers would agree that black is one of the most elegant colors, if not the most. Wine Cellar Specialists thinks so, too! And the team has managed to make the black modern wine racking in this Dallas home a thing to behold

For this project, alder wood was used for the door and wine racking. To enhance style, black stain was used, with black lacquer shade. Alder wood already has a fine surface and the black lacquer made it even more stunning.

These Accents Are Hard to Take for Granted

The intimate lighting system does a great job of highlighting the black modern wine racking. The cozy finish complements the fine black alder wood.  Entering the wine cellar through the eight-feet Barolo door is already an experience. And the discreet but welcoming black modern wine racking system never fails to amaze visitors.

On the left side of the room, when facing the window, the horizontal wine racks that make about a quarter of the wine cellar, will send some chills down your throat. These racks can hold 156 750 ml bottles. Adding to that are the horizontal racks above the arch in the middle of the wine room. They are designed for magnum bottles to be displayed label-forward.

Vertical Wine Racks

The homeowner’s massive wine collection needs an equally massive vertical wine racking system. And so, they did. The towering vertical displays were installed on the right and left side of the wine room with the wines resting in cap-forward fashion. You may not see the labels, but the wine brand’s emblems engraved on the caps are exposed.

Angled Display Rows

In addition, a series of label-forward display rows were added like inserts below the horizontal and vertical wine racks and above the case storage. The bottles are a bit angled to make the labels more visible. Three columns separate these display rows. The left and right columns hold four bottles while the middle columns hold three.

Diamond Bins

The magnificent diamond bins and wood case storages make this wine cellar sensational

The modest-sized diamond bins on the right corner of the room surely add a twist to this already interesting medley of wines and wine racks. There are eight bins in total, some can hold four wine bottles while the larger bins can hold up to eight pieces.

Case Storage

Classic yet modern; modern but rustic. Twenty-one cases of oak-stained wooden case storages help create such a wonderful fusion. The wood case storages are divided into three filling up all seven columns that surround the wine cellar. One column rests beside the diamond bins, making this wine cellar the ultimate wine cellar for anyone to have.
